Charles Spencer King Dies

Sad news as the man who designed the original Range Rover has died at the age of 85.
Widely known as ‘Spen’, he was involved in numerous projects including the original Randge Rover, Lending his initials to the CSK special editions.

2011 Nationals!!

The location for the 2011 ALRC national has been announced, its being hosted by the Breckland Land Rover Club and will be held at Bircham Newton, in Norfolk.
Whilst this is still a resaonable haul for those of us here in Yorkshire, it’s rather closer than the national this year, so we’re hoping for a stong club turnout!

Act now to save another green lane

The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority is again seeking to close a Byway Open to all Traffic (BOAT) in the Dales. The Authority are consulting on a permanent Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) on Gorbeck Road, which runs from Langcliffe (SD830652) to Langscar Gate near Malham (SD880648).
 The route was only confirmed as a BOAT in September

Important information ahead of the Nationals

Around the May bank holiday weekend, VOSA are planning a campaign to stop, inspect, and maybe prosecute drivers towing trailers on the motorway routes into Devon and Cornwall. They’ll be checking all manner of things, including trailer tyres, brakes, lights, noseweights, and overall weights. Anyone planning on going would be well advised to read this

March Newsletter

We’re well into March now and the trialing season has started again in earnest. I’d like to extend my thanks to everyone who entered for the first event of the year earlier this month at Briercliffe.

The event was successful, with a good turnout and great weather. A few of us had some ‘first trial of the year’ technical problems, but were able to borrow some other vehicles and finished the trial without further issue!
